about

The inspiration for Plastic Crown came after listening to the Radio Head song, Fake Plastic Trees. We got to thinking about ego and representing yourself in a way where you're blowing smoke in peoples eyes in order to make them think you’re something that you’re not. This song has nothing to do with the Radiohead song, but ‘fake plastic’ is a little absurd and maybe redundant, but so is the notion that it is describing.

lyrics

When I was a king, you were impressed
You were impressed by the way that I dressed
I dreamed of a kingdom shiny in scene
But the shininess was all in my dreams

My fake plastic crowns comes to end when it hits the ground
My fake plastic crown makes no sound
My fake plastic crown kingdom, come to an end
Don’t drag me down

Smoke blew up and it mystified
Smoke blew up and it burned my eyes
Escape through the secret door
Shuts behind, it was no more

You see, you see in me
This thing that I cannot see
But I know, you look inside
And you will heal my selfish pride
